Notches on the Belt

In the last year, I lost about 50 pounds.
It feels great to not be nearly as heavy. When I lift something that is 50 pounds, I almost have a hard time believing that was actually 50 pounds heavier than I am now.
When I started working out at Anytime Fitness just three months ago, I was about 12 pounds heavier on the scale than I am now. Right now, I am actually about 4 pounds heavier on the scale than I was at my lowest point last year.
When it comes down to it, the weight on the scale doesn’t really matter. I actually like the weight I am right now. I am just less than 220. I like the weight because I like the mass. I don’t feel too skinny but I don’t feel too fat.
With that said, I have about 20 pounds, or so, more fat than I want.
So, I have to go by the belt. In the last year, I have lost seven notches on my belt. Just in the last three months I have lost two notches on my belt.
To put this a little better in perspective, I am four pounds heavier than my lowest point last year but I am one notch (about 1”) smaller. That means that I am losing inches but not losing weight.
I love it.
It really means that I am making positive progress to my goals.
